Hello Brooklyn!
One of our favorite watchdog journalist has done it again! Yup Norman Oder via his Atlantic Yards Report blog has exposed some more (not so surprising) news on the going ons with the Brooklyn Barclay Center.
This time addressing the living wage issue and how many of the ” jobs” that were created, don’t pay enough nor do they provide enough hours for its employees to actually support themselves.
As a born and raised Brooklynite that’s pretty educated with a fairly decent job, I find my head spinning at the pace of which my beloved borough has become nearly impossible to afford to live in. It is rather unfortunate that the employees don’t even make enough to realistically afford to attend an event.

Yes, that is shameful! And yet true! My son got hire there part of a NYCHA deal, but wast ever informed that the job was ‘part time’. And now after working there for almost a year, he still only averages about 3 days (maybe) a week. How is someone to make it on that? Plus he receives no benefits! How is one to survive?!!!!!

More people need to expose this and more importantly, the community needs to show its outrage and hold these people accountable.
