Hurt People, Hurt People
This post may not be one of my most popular so I completely under stand if it’s not liked or shared much. I also understand that it contains a message that we need to be reminded of.
During prayer at church today, one of the pastors said “hurt people, hurt people“. While that was not the first time I’ve heard that term, it really hit home for me. Maybe it’s the current going ons in my life, and maybe it’s some of what I see happening around me and then again, maybe it’s a combination of both. Either way, I sat in my thoughts and reflected on just how deep and far that hurt can extend whether or not it is intended.
My own prayer in that moment was that I can become more patient, understanding, self-aware and yet forgiving. As I am clear that I am both the source and bare sores.

It is so important to recognize the torn parts of our soul that shows up when we envy, hurt, destroy those around us, even those we love. The first step is owning that their is a healing that is necessary, the second step is to get the help needed for the healing. I thank God for his wisdom, if we take the time to meditate and pray God will guide us to the right prescription for a joyful, healthier, life. Small steps to a happier life rid of chains that weigh us down and keep us from being the blessing we can be to others and fulfilling our own purpose. Thank you for this post Kisha!

I came across a devotional today entitled “Anger Yields Anger, Wisdom Yields Patience” and it started off “Hurt people hurt people” and it had a poem that was nice that i would like to share…
Edwin Markum wrote a short poem that goes like this: “They drew a circle to shut me out, heretic, a rebel, a thing to flout. But love and I had the wit to win. We drew a circle that took them in.”
Somehow I know that it was meant for me to read both of these this morning… I have some reflecting to do… Your blogs definitely keep me in deep thought 🙂
