Weekend Change Of Plans!
In the wake of the death of Nelson Mandela, we’ve been flooded with pictures, quotes, reflections and much more. I myself am blessed to have had the opportunity to both see and hear him when I was 13 years old, during his trip to New York in 1990. At the time not fully understanding what was taking place however; feeling the energy that was on that field was infectious and a seed was planted.
Since hearing of Mandela’s passing, the legacy that he leaves behind has been the topic of discussion. My question is; what are we going to do with it, both as members of the community and as individuals? How are we educating ourselves and our children on what Mandela stood for (if at all) and what are we doing to create our own legacies. What will yours be?
Since I don’t believe in coincidence, supporting the “A Long Walk to Freedom” movie is a must and a easy way to bridge the information gap for some. It’s current playing is very fitting and just on time. A WEEKEND CHANGE OF PLANS is in order!
Despite some of the reviews, a family outing to see the movie is a perfect way to celebrate the life of a hero!
