We’re in good hands NYC!
Less than 24 hours after being elected as Mayor of NYC, Bill de Blasio officially named the Co-chairs of his transition team. If you follow NYC local government and non-profit work, I think many agree, that both Carl Weisbrod and Jennifer Jones Austin are more than capable and will bring integrity to their roles.
With this move, I believe that our Mayor-elect has the best intentions for ALL New Yorker’s. While his job will not be an easy one by far, I’m already feeling that this team will work diligently and will begin to restore a sense of faith back in NYC government.
Mrs. Jones Austin has been an exemplary leader. She has both directly and inadvertently touched more lives than I think she even realizes. As a woman of color, she has personally inspired me with her perseverance, civic committment and outward expression of the role that faith plays in her life.
